For even the most critical of patients, life support can be provided onboard an air ambulance aircraft. In a non emergency situation, a doctor usually gives the permission to fly. Sometimes a patient on life support can improve in condition for a few days before flying.

Heart monitors, defibrillators, and suction kits are part of the setup. Also, oxygen can be provided along with a ventilator and respiratory therapist, if needed. Along with this wide range of emergency equipment, the aspects of an intensive care unit and a coronary care unit are found inside.

Nasal cannulas, tracheotomy masks, and drug kits are all common forms of life support as well. An emergency drug kit is available for the paramedic, nurse, or doctor to use. IV pumps and infusion pumps are also ready for use.

There are many patients who need specialized medical items in order to be properly cared for. We can arrange to have the hospital or icu unit provide these needs. Also, we can sometimes fly in special equipment needed to take the patient to their destination.
