An air ambulance network is a single dispatching location that contracts with individual air ambulance providers all over the country and world. There is a distinct advantage to having a network of air ambulance companies. It often makes the price of transport lower because there are a number of options of airplanes to use for the transport. Most aircrafts have to turn to their bases or are en route. Thus, depending on where an aircraft is or needs to go, the cost of the trip can be seriously less. Also, availability can become an issue because of emergencies and the fact that air ambulances are often not scheduled more than a few days in advance. An air ambulance company that has a network and contracts with multiple providers can be extremely beneficial to those that needs to travel via medical means.
A Network of Air Ambulance Providers
A private aircraft, unlike commercial airliners, usually returns to its base after a transport. This means that the plane has to go round trip, even though a patient is going one way. This makes the cost of transport much more expensive. A network of providers can take advantage of the empty transports where planes are returning from a mission and relay the benefits to the public.
